Capital Energy, winner in the Smart Renewable Technology category of the enerTIC Awards

The 10th edition of these prestigious awards was held in 2022 

  • The company’s Renewable Energy Deployment Platform has awarded Capital Energy its first accolade in these awards for innovation and improvement of energy competitiveness through digitalisation  

Madrid, 30 December 2022.- Capital Energy, a Spanish energy company founded two decades ago and aiming to become the Iberian Peninsula’s first vertically integrated, fully renewable energy company, has emerged as the winner in the Smart Renewable Technology category of the enerTIC Awards 2022 with its project Renewable Energy Deployment Platform. 

Víctor Gimeno Granda, Head of Digitalisation and Sustainability at Capital Energy, accepted the award during the ceremony of these prestigious awards for innovation and improvement of energy competitiveness through digitalisation, which took place recently at the headquarters of the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence. 

“Capital Energy’s digital platform for deploying renewable energies, which is the result of upwards of two years of work, has reformulated, simplified and integrated the processes of defining, developing and building renewable generation technology infrastructures, thus contributing to streamlining our contribution to the ecological and just energy transition and to sustainable development,” said Gimeno Granda. 

Since 2013, the enerTIC Awards, which in this tenth edition have received around 100 entries, have acknowledged the leading projects and managers in the field of applying ICTs to improve energy competitiveness and sustainability, not only in their companies, but also in their sector. 

The enerTIC.org Platform currently collaborates with over 90 companies and an extensive Institutional Collaboration Network. The enerTIC Awards form part of its annual activity plan, which includes over 20 initiatives designed to drive innovation to foster energy efficiency and sustainability. The programme involves energy companies and companies from other sectors such as automotive, food and beverage, aeronautics, together with financial institutions, local councils and public bodies.
