Capital Energy appoints Javier Cervera Benito as head of Communications

• His mission will be to boost the renewable energy Company’s external and in-house information activities to strengthen its reputation and help it to progress in its vocation to contribute to the Fair and Green Transition of the economy and society.

Madrid, 22nd October 2020. Capital Energy, a Spanish 100%-renewable energy company, enlarges and strengthens its team with the appointment of Javier Cervera Benito as head of Communications.

Javier Cervera (Madrid, 1968) is a journalist specialising in energy and financial information, and communications during crises. He joins the Company from Iberdrola, where he worked for the last 18 and a half years in the corporate Communications department and where he directed communications for the Iberdrola España sub-holding for more than three years. He holds a Degree in Information Sciences, Journalism branch, from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and a Masters in Broadcasting from the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid. Previously, between 1999 and 2002, he was the coordinator of the Business section of La Gaceta de Negocios, a national financial daily newspaper, where he also covered energy sector news.

He began his professional career in 1991 at Grupo Editorial Recoletos, where he became Editor in chief of the local information publications distributed by the firm in Spain. Subsequently he became editorial director of Gacetas Locales, where he drove the launch of new journalistic projects. He has also been a radio broadcaster on Cadena 100, COPE FM and Cadena SER.
