Capital Energy’s retail arm comes into being

By: Capital Energy · 28 Oct 2020

After almost 20 years’ experience in the sector, Capital Energy culminates its strategic goal of being present all along the renewable energy generation value chain by starting up its retail arm. This will take 100% clean energy, produced at its own wind and solar facilities in Spain and Portugal, to consumers.

Tariffs inspired by wind power

Capital Energy touches down with the Sirocco and Mistral tariffs, names inspired by the direction and transforming power of the wind.

On one hand, the Sirocco tariff offers customers 100% renewable electricity at a single price and at any time of day. On the other, the Mistral tariff is aimed at those who use less energy during the day, offering them one rate during the day and a different one during the night, for bigger savings.

Capital Energy’s tariffs will not be subject to a long-term commitment and will adapt to the needs of each one of its customers. They will also get the lowest price for power allowed by the Spanish state and will not have to pay additional fees or management costs.

Target: 5% market share

The Company, which began testing last October, has set the target of reaching a 5% market share over the new few years.

The energy company has committed to this launch with a team that has complementary profiles and wide experience to develop its retail department. The retail arm is led by Carlos Rodríguez Argüelles as Customer Manager (coming from Iberia), and also has Leticia Sarnago Galán, as Head of Marketing (coming from Holaluz), and Paula Ana Fernández-Velasco Suárez, as Head of Sales (coming from Gesternova).

The new team will work with the Energy Management Department, managed by José Ramón Arechederra Álvarez, which also has Gema Clemente Hermoso as Wholesale Business and Product Structuring Manager (both coming from Enerfin, Elecnor Group’s wind energy subsidiary).

By launching the retail arm, Capital Energy becomes the first vertically-integrated 100%-renewable electricity company on the Iberian Peninsula. The Company covers the business of promotion and development up to green electricity generation, storage and supply.
