By: Capital Energy · 10 Jun 2020

  •  The Company's Economic/Financial, HR, M&A, Corporate Strategy, Communications and IT departments will be under Francisco Clemente’s management.
  • He takes on a two-fold challenge: giving the project the necessary resources to carry out the investment plan successfully, and consolidate corporate culture.
  • Last week the Company announced its intention of investing more than €10 billion over the next 5 years.

With the aim of undertaking an ambitious business plan for 2025, Capital Energy, a 100% renewable Spanish energy company, is strengthening its structure with the incorporation of Francisco Clemente to its management team as Director General of Corporate, coming directly under Jesús Martín Buezas, Executive Vice-Chairperson of the Company.

The Company's Economic/Financial, HR, M&A, Corporate Strategy, Communications and IT departments will be under his management. In his position as Director General of corporate, and coming directly under the Company's Executive Vice-Chairperson, he takes on a two-fold challenge: giving the project the necessary resources to carry out the investment plan successfully, and consolidate corporate culture to achieve greater efficiency in the Company’s business model transformation process to integrate into the entire renewable energy generation value chain.

He will work with his team to give the project the necessary resources to carry out the ambitious business plan successfully and achieve greater efficiency and sustainability in the processes, as well as progressing the business model transformation that the Company is immersed in. All of this has the purpose of achieving its integration into the entire renewable energy generation value chain, from development, construction, generation and operation up to, coming soon, retailing.

Moreover, at in-house level, taking on the management of HR and Communications, he will have the challenge of reinforcing corporate culture and recruiting and retaining the Company's talent, which has gone from 30 people to more than 200 in just two years.

Francisco Clemente holds a Degree in Economics from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from IE Business School. He has a track record of more than 30 years’ experience in the infrastructures sector as head of finance, administration and control. He began in the Grupo Ferrovial Finance Department and, since 2002, was Economic/Financial Director at Cintra Infraestructuras de Transporte where, for the last 18 years, he was head of the financial teams taking part in the acquisition, financing and asset management of strategic Ferrovial infrastructures on markets such as Canada, USA, UK and Australia in the past few years. From the Economic/Financial department he also led the process for Cintra’s flotation on the Stock Market, having subsequently being included in the Ibex 35 index for 5 years.
