  •  A flexible, vibrant working atmosphere, and the Company's commitment to innovation and society were amongst the most highly rated matters by its experts.
  • More than 38% of its staff are women and this percentage is maintained in the management team, at 36%.
  • In the last two years, the Capital Energy team has gone from 30 professionals to more than 200 and, at today’s date, has several offers to recruit talent.

Madrid, 11th June 2020. Capital Energy, a Spanish 100%-renewable energy Company, has gained Great Place to Work recognition, which is given by the consultancy firm with the same name.

After a rigorous certification process that included a global survey of the employees, a cultural audit and an assessment of benefits, policies and best practices, the Company gained the certification that certifies that Capital Energy is a reputable organisation that can attract and retain talent.

Specifically, the results of the survey revealed the particular value that its professionals place on the working atmosphere, flexibility and work/life balance; equal treatment and equal opportunities for professional development with a stable career plan; fluent, two-way communications between management and the rest of the team; and the Company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development, amongst other matters.

“This certification is a boost for the management team and, in particular, HR management, to continue progress with the route and aims that we set from the start, when, in 2002, Capital Energy was created by a young, committed team with the aim of transforming the energy system by driving Green Transition using renewable energy. Today we are proud, because this certification endorses that we have been able to pass this feeling and enthusiasm on to the more than 200 professionals forming part of this Company, enabling the Company to be perceived as a great place to work now”, Ángela del Pozo, Head of Human Resources at Capital Energy explained.

Great Place to Work® is the consultancy firm that, for more than 30 years, has been working with companies worldwide to identify, create and retain high confidence and high-performance cultures by helping organisations to become great places to work.

For its part, Capital Energy is a Spanish 100%-renewable energy Company dedicated to developing wind and photovoltaic energy and, currently, immersed in a transformation plan to integrate into the entire renewable energy value chain: development, construction, generation and operation and, coming soon, retailing, which will involve accumulated investment of more than €10 billion over the next 5 years.

In the last two years it has experienced considerable growth, which is also reflected in its team of professionals who have gone from 30 people to more than 200. On the team, 38% are women, which is a percentage that is maintained on the management team, at 36%. Today it has several job offers to recruit and attract talent in the various links in the renewable energy generation value chain.

It has a presence in Spain and Portugal, with 11 offices, and promotes renewable energy projects in more than 1,000 municipal districts, where it intends to conciliate the aim of decarbonisation with giving impetus to the rural environment where the energy is produced by creating employment and local wealth.

Social Commitment

On its social responsibility and commitment side, and given the exceptional situation caused by Covid-19, Capital Energy has also rallied, developing and supporting initiatives at different levels that would make it possible to mitigate the health and social impact. This aspect has also been highly valued by its employees, who have also been involved in the process of identifying initiatives as well as supporting them with their experience, time and know-how.

Specifically, the Company has donated 12,000 face masks, 400 coveralls, surgical glasses and hand sanitiser to various health organisations, including the Hospital la Paz, Hospital General Villalba, Hospital Quirón Madrid and HUCA in Oviedo. It has also donated 73 hospital beds to the Hospital Gregorio Marañón and the Hospital Clínico San Carlos. Moreover, in its commitment to innovation, it is collaborating on the Positive Energy+ project, an initiative run by Enagás, Red Eléctrica, BP, Iberdrola, CLH, Acciona and EIT InnoEnergy to attract start-ups in Spain developing projects relating to environmental sustainability, mobility, social impact, digitisation, telecommunications and 4.0, all from the energy point of view, and which, on its first run, received almost 400 proposals. Finally, it is worth highlighting collaboration on the Ennomotive project for the manufacture of a low- cost respirator.
